Dankort Secured by Nets
Nets’ security solution for online payments by Dankort is called Dankort Secured by Nets. Its purpose is to reduce fraud in e-commerce.
The security solution is based on requirements set by the EU and the Danish FSA for strong customer authentication (SCA), and is therefore mandatory for you as a merchant to implement.

How Dankort Secured by Nets works
When your customer has entered their card information, or selected a former saved card, they must approve with the NemID app. Alternatively, your customer can choose to approve with an SMS code and a password that he or she choose. Payments where the amount is low will in most cases not require any approval.
Getting started
As a merchant, contact your payment service provider (PSP) to learn more about preparing your online shop to be ready for Dankort Secured by Nets. The registration for the solution is already in place for cardholders where Nets and the banks know the cardholder’s mobile number. If no mobile number is registered, the cardholder will have to use NemID instead.

Why has Nets introduced this security solution for Dankort in e-commerce?
We want to reduce fraud while ensuring that shopping online remains easy and convenient for consumers.
In addition, the EU has resolved to elevate the security of online payments at European level.
Does the solution apply to all amounts?
The starting point is that small amounts can be exempted from the security check, so only amounts above DKK 225 are subject to controls. If you want all purchases in your online shop to be controlled, including those under DKK 225 your PSP can set this up.
We will carry out a risk assessment based on patterns and transactions, so consumers will occasionally encounter the security solution when shopping online.
